League of Legends Season 2 World Playoffs resume tonight

League of Legends' World Playoffs will resume tonight, four days after the tournament's organizers at developer Riot Games postponed the matches due to technical issues stemming from a weak internet connection.

Three contests will take place this evening, starting at 8 p.m. ET:

  • Match 1: Team WE vs. Counter Logic Gaming EU quarterfinal
  • Match 2: M5.BenQ vs. Taipei Assassins semifinal
  • Match 3: Azubu Frost vs. the winner of Match 1

All games will be livestreamed in HD on Twitch and Own3D, and Riot is promising that the streams will offer "the same production quality and broadcast features (player cams, replays, interviews, etc.) that you saw up until we ran into technical difficulties." However, because the studio is using a backstage area at the Galen Center for tonight's matches — the main stage is still being set up for Saturday's World Championships — there will be no live audience in attendance this evening.

Riot Games has also taken steps to ensure a fair competition, after allegations of cheating surfaced this past weekend based on an insecure stage setup.
