A complete version of SingStar could soon be available as a free download, according to the Viewer app discontinuation reported by PSN Stores.

SingStar Viewer was a free app that allowed users to browse and buy new songs, as well as watch videos posted by other players. PlayStation 3 users who attempt to access the Viewer will instead receive the following message: "Support for the SingStar Viewer has been discontinued. The complete SingStar experience will be available as a free download very soon!"

Previously, users had to own a copy of the game to play purchased songs.

No date has been given for the download, although a recent tweet from SingStar's official twitter feed suggests the full announcement will follow in the next week.
