Submissions are now open for the Make Something Unreal Live 2013 competition, Epic Games announced today.
The competition challenges university students of game development, in teams of six to 10, to make games for PC using the Unreal Development Kit. Epic is accepting submissions until November 2nd, with this year's theme focusing on Mendelian genetics. Winners will be announced in April at the 2013 Gadget Show Live, earning themselves a commercial licence to use Unreal Engine 4 for PC title development.
This is Make Something Unreal's second year running. Last year's winner, Fighting Fantasy-based iOS title Warlock of Firetop Mountain: Lost Chapters by Commando Kiwi, received Unreal Engine 3 licensing.
Interested applicants can look over the official submission rules on the Unreal Engine website.
