Resident Evil 6 game-crashing bug successfully patched

A game-crashing bug plaguing European Resident Evil 6 players who downloaded their copies through PlayStation Network has been successfully patched, according to the PlayStation EU forums.

The patch went live at 5 pm BST (noon ET). Several players have already reported the patch's success on the forums. Those who have already downloaded Resident Evil 6 and the buggy patch are advised to delete both and reinstall the game before applying the updated patch.

The bug in yesterday's day-one patch for Resident Evil 6 resulted in the game failing to boot up. Players with digital copies of the title will now be able to participate in online multiplayer with retail version players.
