Bad Piggies, Rovio's latest mobile title which features the antagonistic green swine from the Angry Birds franchise, topped the U.S. App Store sales charts within three hours of its release, the company announced today.
The sales feat marks the fastest that a Rovio-developed game has made it to the number one iOS sales position, beating out records set by its latest titles, Amazing Alex and Angry Birds: Space, both of which were top sellers within their first day on the market.
Rovio has ambitious plans for the buggy-building casual title, already planning a free content update which will launch "in the next few weeks." The update, titled "Flight Into the Night," will add new levels, unlockables, and "exciting plot twists in the pigs' quest for the eggs." We've reached out to Rovio to get a better idea of what those unlockables include, and how a story involving porcine technology could possibly get any more twisted.
