Resident Evil 6 ships 4.5 million copies
Three days after the official launch of Resident Evil 6, Capcom announced today that the game has shipped more than 4.5 million copies worldwide.
The survival horror launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and broke street date in some countries. It received mixed reviews, with scores spanning across the review spectrum.
As of June 2012, the entire Resident Evil series has shipped more than 50 million units since the first title's release in 1996. Capcom reported today that these figures "demonstrate that Resident Evil is just as popular today as it was 15 years ago when the first title made its debut".
The zombie survival-horror game is now on sale with the PC version yet to be dated for release.
