Nintendo discontinuing Flame Red 3DS model
Nintendo is discontinuing the Flame Red model of the 3DS, Nintendo Japan indicated today on its company website.
The page listing the handheld's model and color now displays a bar reading "Production has been discontinued" above the red 3DS.
The model was launched in Japan in July 2011 and North America last September. It was the third 3DS to be introduced, after launch day colors Cosmo Black and Aqua Blue, the latter of which was also discontinued earlier this year.
In July, Nintendo launched the 3DS XL in Japan, with red/black and blue/black dual-toned models available day one.
