'NightSky' coming to 3DS eShop October 25th
NightSky, the serene puzzle-platformer from Knytt Stories developer Nifflas, will arrive on the Nintendo 3DS eShop on October 25th, Nintendo announced in a press release today.
NightSky casts the player in the role of a glass sphere, which must execute special, physics-based maneuvers to traverse a series of silhouetted levels. The title was first released on PC early last year, and was supposed to be ported to the WiiWare platform — though the Wii version of the title never took shape.
The 3DS version of the title, which is in development at Cave Story developer Nicalis, will not support the handheld's glasses-free 3D technology, remaining a purely two-dimensional affair. Nicalis producer Tyrone Rodriguez told Joystiq he felt 3D would "distract from the game," shortly after the port was announced.
You can check out a trailer for the 3DS version of NightSky above.
