New screenshots from the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 5 showcase the game's protagonists, street racing and helicopter take-downs.

Last week it was revealed the Rockstar Games title will feature three protagonists and a world larger than Grand Theft Auto 4, San Andreas and Red Dead Redemption combined. The game's protagonists includes Michael, a retired bank robber who has cut a deal with the FBI in return for a life of privilege, psychopathic Trevor and car thief Franklin. Each character will have a particular set of skills that can be used within mini-game activities throughout the game.

Grand Theft Auto 5 launches on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 next spring.
