Blizzard celebrates World of Warcraft's eighth anniversary with player gifts

Blizzard is celebrating the eighth anniversary of its World of Warcraft massively multiplayer online role-playing game with gifts for players who log into the game through Dec. 1, according to a post published today on the game's blog.

"World of Warcraft turns eight on Nov. 23, and we'd like to thank our amazing community for joining us in celebrating eight epic years of adventure," the blog post reads. "To celebrate, players who log in to World of Warcraft between Nov. 18 and Dec. 1 will receive a unique Feat of Strength achievement and Celebration Package item. Using your item will kick off the celebrations by shooting off fireworks, applying a (cosmetic only) tabard to your character, and granting an 8 percent bonus to experience and reputation gains from any enemies defeated while active."

The developer also put together a montage of the MMO's geography from its early days to its recent Mists of Pandaria expansion. You can check out the video above.
