Elite: Dangerous dev diary shows off first gameplay footage, talks multiplayer and how ships work

Frontier Developments released a developer diary for Elite: Dangerous this weekend, with a video showing off an early build of the game and narration by the game's creator David Braben, who talks viewers through the game's multiplayer mode and the elements of the ships.

Braben launched the Kickstarter campaign for Elite: Dangerous in early November, asking for £1,250,000 ($2 million) to create a follow-up to the original Elite game, which was first published in 1984.

Frontier Developments has plans to release Elite: Dangerous on PC sometime in 2014. The Kickstarter campaign has raised £583,216 ($934,486) at the time of writing.
