GOG.com adds Windows 8 support for nearly 90 percent of its games

Nearly 90 percent of the games offered at GOG.com now support Windows 8, the online retailer announced today.

The company previously said it was taking a wait-and-see attitude toward adoption of Microsoft's new tablet-accommodating operating system. Today, one month after the Windows 8 launch, 431 of GOG.com games — just under 89 percent of the 486 titles currently available on the site — have been "fixed, tested, and reported to be working properly" on the OS.

According to GOG.com, players won't need to reinstall most games in order to get them to support Windows 8, and some older titles have also been updated with Windows 7 support. In addition, the company said that it will make more of its games compatible with Windows 8 in the future.
