Xbox Live Gold goes free this weekend worldwide, minus Europe
Microsoft will be opening up Gold tier access for free on Xbox Live this weekend for players around the world, granting non-paying subscribers access to the service's online multiplayer, entertainment apps and Internet Explorer. While the offer reaches Xbox 360 owners far and wide, European gamers won't be able to take part in the promotion.
From Nov. 29 to Dec. 2, Xbox Live Gold will be free for players in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan and the United States, according to Microsoft's Major Nelson.
The free weekend of Xbox Live Gold may be a good opportunity for Halo 4 players to catch up on the game's Spartan Ops mode, which is now four episodes deep.
