Nyko PlayPad controllers for Android devices available soon
Nyko's PlayPad and PlayPad Pro controllers, which are designed for Android tablets and smartphones, have "shipped to retailers nationwide" and will be available soon, according to a press release from Nyko.
Designed for devices sporting Nvidia Tegra mobile processors, the controllers are launching in two sizes: the smaller PlayPad, which ships with a stand for your phone, and the PlayPad Pro, a GameStop exclusive akin to the size of a standard console controller. The $39.99 devices will be available at North American retailers for the holiday season.
Earlier this year, Nyko released Playground, a free Android app that provides backward compatibility for games developed without the controllers in mind. Users can create control schemes from within the app or choose from an existing library. Check out the video above to see the controllers in action.
