Official Pokédex iOS app launches in North America, Europe
An official Pokédex application featuring more than 640 Pokémon characters will be available for iOS devices in Europe and North America, the Pokémon Company International announced today.
The app costs $1.99 and provides fully illustrated information on where Pokémon are located, how to evolve them, weaknesses, abilities and more. Users can scroll through different creatures by name, number, type or ability.
Downloading the Pokédex will grant immediate access to the Unova region, the setting for Pokémon Black, Pokémon White and their respective sequels. Unova includes Pokémon numbered 494 through 647. Access to the full National Pokédex is available by region, including Kanto (1-151), Johto (152-251), Hoenn (252-386) and Sinnoh (387-493), for an additional $5.99 each.
The Pokédex will run on the iPhone 3GS, 4S and 5; the iPod touch, 4th and 5th generations; iPad, 3rd and 4th generations, iPad 2 and iPad mini. Devices must run iOS 6.0 or higher. You can download it now from the Apple App Store.
The app launched earlier this year in Japan.
