Galcon designer heads to Kickstarter to bring free-to-play sequel to life
Galcon 2: Galactic Conquest, the sequel to space-based RTS Galcon first developed by designer Phil Hassey in 1995 at age 15, has hit crowdfunding site Kickstarter with a funding goal of $23,099.
If funded, the sequel will include expanded modes, an auto-match feature for online multiplayer, a trophy system and clan support. Hassey plans to launch the title as a free-to-play game on PC, Mac, Linux and later iOS and Android devices.
Hassey has continued developing the RTS title since its initial launch in the '90s, and has created numerous re-releases and ports of the game over the years. Versions are currently available on iOS and Android.
