Star Citizen's 'Freelancer' ship design decided by fans, detailed on video

Star Citizen, Roberts Space Industries' crowd-funded space flight sim, will offer a wide catalog of ships for players to choose from, one of which was detailed in a recent video developer diary.

The "Freelancer" is a single-pilot ship capable of performing any number of intergalactic odd jobs. Its sleek, dual-engine design was just one option among several that the game's community voted on, winning the survey with over 75 percent of the vote. That winning design was workshopped by studio founder Chris Roberts and concept artist Jim Martin to result in the 3D model seen in the video above.
