Guild Wars 2 Wintersday event promises holiday festivities, culminates in Toypocalypse

ArenaNet's holiday plans for massively multiplayer online role-playing game Guild Wars 2 have been detailed on the official site, promising a multi-week-long series of events full of holiday-themed content and lots and lots of toys.

Later this week, starting Dec. 14, The Wondrous Workshop of Toymaker Tixx — a floating airship instance — will make stops throughout the world of Guild Wars 2, bringing activities, events, and festive surprises to players across Tyria. Then, on Dec. 20, Tixx will touch down at Lion's Arch for a fortnight, ushering in the new Toypocalypse event.

ArenaNet explains:

The toys in Tixx's workshop have gone haywire! They're trying to take over the gigantic toymaking machine in the center of the workshop, and if they succeed, Wintersday will be ruined! Defend Tixx's present-delivering dolyaks and the gigantic toy-making machine from waves of maniacal toys in these challenging and fun events.
