Elite: Dangerous video highlights multiplayer dogfights in space

In a video released today as part of a developer diary for Elite: Dangerous, Frontier Development's founder David Braben talks about spaceships, upgrades and achieving balance among the game's classes.

Check out the video above to see the remake of Braben's 1984 space sim, Elite. During the video, the development team plays a multiplayer battle between pirates attacking a convoy and the spaceships tasked with defending it.

Elite: Dangerous' Kickstarter campaign began early last month with a funding goal of £1.25 million. As of this writing, it has received £720,787 with 23 days remaining before the campaign ends on Jan. 4. If funded, it's set for a March 2014 release.
