Xbox Live points and Gold memberships now available directly from register at Dollar General stores

Xbox Live users can now purchase points and Gold memberships directly at the register at Dollar General retailers, bypassing the need of purchasing and redeeming physical prepaid cards.

The service, called Microsoft Xbox Live Prepaid PIN on Receipt is a collaboration between prepaid transaction service InComm and retailer Dollar General. Through this new service, which launched today, players will be able to buy Xbox Live points and upgrade memberships in denominations of $19.99, $24.99, $49.99 and $59.99 directly from the register. Dollar General's cashiers will then generate a receipt that details the number of points purchased and instructions for redemption.

Xbox Live users will still be able to purchase points through pre-paid cards, off the console, on Amazon and at other retailers.
