The first episode of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead is now free on iOS, giving iPhone and iPad owners a taste of the Game of the Year award-winning title.

Telltale says the first episode, A New Day, will be free for "a limited time" via the iTunes App Store. The episode is normally priced at $4.99. The remaining four episodes can be purchased for $4.99 each or as a bundle for $14.99. The Walking Dead: The Game is compatible with iPhone 4, iPad 2 and newer iOS devices.

Other Telltale Games titles are on sale for $0.99 per episode until Jan. 1, the developer announced today. Marked down titles include Jurassic Park: The Game, Tales of Monkey Island, Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space and Hector: Badge of Carnage.
