Silent Hunter Online historical advisor talks authenticity and accuracy
Ubisoft has released a video interview with Silent Hunter Online's historical advisor, Martin Siedlaczek, in which he discusses the ways in which the game achieves historical accuracy and authenticity.
Siedlaczek, who is something of a war historian and an avid collector of military material, helped the development team of Silent Hunter Online ensure that their depictions of everything from the ships to the ship interiors to the weapons were historically accurate. He also consulted on the developers' designs, technical stats, and worked with the team so that the gameplay reflected what soldiers would have done in battles at sea. He offered advice on how targets were engaged, what procedures the crew would have had to follow to fire a torpedo and verified facts, figures and additional data.
Silent Hunter Online is currently in beta.
