Dune 2 is the oldest RTS game that can be played in your browser

Dune 2, one of the earliest examples of the RTS genre, can now be played in a browser two decades after its initial release to DOS systems in 1992.

The Westwood Studios-developed title was ported to browsers by Aleksander Guryanov as part of the OpenDune project, an open source attempt to re-create Dune 2 for modern systems.

The game is based on the David Lynch adaptation of Frank Herbert's famed novel. Click here to play Dune 2.
