Fester Mudd: Curse of the Gold brings old school adventure games to the wild west
Retro adventure game Fester Mudd: The Curse of the Gold is scheduled to launch January 2013 under the wing of Replay Games' new CEO Josh Mandel, the publisher announced today.
The upcoming title, which is being developed by Prank Entertainment is scheduled to release on Mac, PC, iOS and Android devices. Fester Mudd is described as a comedy title influenced by the retro fare of the early '90s. The game will take place in the old west and represents Replay's first original IP.
Mandel is formerly the director of Sierra-Online product design department, in addition to helping to produce titles for Sega, Midway, Hasbro and Microsoft. He also had a role in developing the story and dialog for Replay's remake of Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards.
Fester Mudd is currently part of Steam Greenlight, allowing the Steam community to review and vote on their favorite submission prior to being placed on the Steam platform. The game's Greenlight page can be checked out here.
