Retro Robot Unicorn Attack gives the unicorn an old-school 8-bit makeover
The latest incarnation of PixelJam's Robot Unicorn Attack brings the high-flying unicorn into the age of gaming's past, recreating the adventure with old-school pixelated graphics.
Retro Robot Unicorn Attack is the same playful game wrapped in, well, a retro wrapper. The chiptunes version of Erasure's synthpop ballad "Always" is also a nice touch, and the whole experience in a given a classic gloss complete with blips, beeps and whooshes that made tackling obstacles in older games so charming.
Check out the video above for a look at the game in action, which is playable for free over at Adult Swim's website.
