Dragon Quest X trailer shows off HD gameplay on the Wii U

Dragon Quest X, the upcoming online installment of the long-running role-playing game franchise, received a new trailer today showing off HD Wii U gameplay.

Check out the the Japanese language trailer above for a montage filled with glowing magic spells, a spacefaring train powered by steam and a frightened little man with a green mustache, each presented in high definition on the Wii U, which will share an online universe with the Wii version.

Dragon Quest X is expected to launch for Wii U in beta next February, with an expected Japanese launch in Spring 2013. Earlier this year, a developer at Square Enix revealed plans to provide content updates every 10 weeks, and a Japanese newspaper, Nikkei, reported that to be a 10 year strategy.
