Actor Zachary Levi presented a brand-new trailer for Gears of War: Judgment, the series prequel being developed by Epic Games and People Can Fly, at tonight's Spike Video Game Awards.

A month after Emergence Day, with the Locust invasion in full swing, cities burn. Humans speak of a "massive grub" cutting swaths of destruction through the land, and infighting makes the situation even worse. We do at least see plenty of combat footage, including Cole Train whacking off a Locust's head with a baseball swing.

The game focuses on Lt. Damon Baird, and is being written by Tom Bissell and Rob Auten.

Gears of War: Judgment is set for release on March 19, 2013, on Xbox 360. Check out our multiplayer preview from E3.
