A look at Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate’s hammers

Capcom introduced another one of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate's weapons on its blog today, this time giving players a look at hammers.

Hammers will appeal to players looking for "something that excels in the strength department, or feels more grounded ... with more overall impact," according to the post. Unlike the Sword and Shield combo, a hammer has no way to block oncoming attacks and moves much slower; it does, however, have similar reach and running speed in the hands of a hunter.

Players who choose the hammer will have an advantage when delivering successive blows to a monster's head, which will make the creature dizzy and vulnerable for a short time. The hammer can also be charged for different and more lethal attacks.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is scheduled for a March release on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.
