The developers of The Showdown Effect released a new trailer for their 2.5D multiplayer, platforming action game today that shows off the game's exaggerated multiplayer battles and sense of humor.

Developed by Arrowhead Game Studios — the same studio behind Magicka — The Showdown Effect is inspired by action films of the 80s and 90s and celebrates the cheesiness of the genre through its characters, weapons and dramatic gameplay. Weapons include bazookas, lightsabers and frying pans.

The game is currently in beta and sign-ups are open on on its website.
