Dead Space 3 players get Commander Shepard's armor with Mass Effect 3 save

Dead Space 3 players will have access to an armor set modeled after the uniform of Mass Effect 3's protagonist Commander Shepard, provided they've played the latter, EA announced today.

The N7 Armor set will be unlocked for any players who "own Mass Effect 3," according to the announcement video above; though players just need to have a save game from Mass Effect 3 on their hard drive to get access. Any potential non-aesthetic benefits that the Mass Effect armor provides aren't revealed in the trailer, though based on the carnage of said video, we're assuming it doesn't make Isaac Clarke any less capable when it comes to killing Necromorphs.

Dead Space 3 launches Feb. 5 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, while a demo is available now for the latter two platforms.
