Developer Crytek released a new video today walking viewers through various visual effects rendered on its in-house CryEngine 3 for upcoming title Crysis 3.
In the 25-minute video above, technical artist Sean Tracy explains how the engine has been used to create Crysis 3's lighting behavior, surface reflections and water and weathering effects, to name just a few of the game's visual layers. Tracy's demo is also conducted within Crysis 3's level editor in real-time, giving viewers a sense of what it's like building the Crysis world.
Crysis 3 will be released on Feb. 19 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.
