Source Code director to head up Warcraft film

The director of Source Code, Duncan Jones, will direct Legendary Pictures' live-action adaptation of Blizzard Entertainment's Warcraft, according to Hollywood Reporter.

The English film director, who is also the son of musician David Bowie, has worked on Moon (2009) the short film Whistle (2002) and will join a production team that already consists of producers Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni and Blizzard's Charles Roven and Alex Gartner. The script will be written by Charles Leavitt, who has previously worked on Blood Diamond (2006) and The Jennie Project (2001).

Details on the script are currently under wraps and the cast is yet to be announced. It is believed that the film will begin production in fall 2013 with an aim to release in 2015.
