Kickstarter games receive over $83 million in pledges throughout 2012
Kickstarter backers pledged $83,144,565 to game-related projects throughout 2012, the crowdfunding website announced in its end-of-year round-up.
According to the website, pledges were made by 561,574 backs to 2,796 different games projects. While 2,796 games projects launched throughout the year, Kickstarter confirms 911 were successful.
The crowdfunding website also singled out the extremely successful Double Fine Adventure which helped to kick off the trend of games-based Kickstarter campaigns after reaching its funding goal many time over in March 2012. Double Fine Adventure received $3,336,371 of its initial $400,000 goal.
