Chocobo Racing 3D no longer coming to 3DS, says original creator

Chocobo Racing 3D, a Nintendo 3DS offering from Square Enix based off of the original PlayStation title Chocobo Racing, is thought to be no longer in development, according to the game's original creator Takashi Tokita.

While Chocobo Racing 3D was revealed prior to both Bravely Default and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, development of the game has since gone quiet.

"The original Chocobo Racing was made by me," Tokita told Siliconera. "But the one for the 3DS was a project being handled by someone else, and as far as I know, it has been closed. Now, if I had made it, I would have made sure that it came out. Unfortunately I was not!"

Polygon has contacted Square Enix for details on the status of its development and will update when more information becomes available.
