Post-disaster first-person survival sim The Long Dark surpassed its funding goal of $200,000 CAD on Kickstarter today.
More than 5,500 backers have contributed to the project so far. The Long Dark is the debut title from Hinterland Studio, a team of industry veterans previously from Relic Entertainment, BioWare and Volition Inc. The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where players must learn to survive in the wilderness. Gameplay includes survival mechanics that measure a player's fatigue, thirst and more.
The game will feature voice work from Mass Effect veterans Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale — the voice of male and female Shepard, respectively — and Elias Toufexis, the voice of Deus Ex: Human Revolution's Adam Jensen.
Funding efforts for The Long Dark end Wednesday, Oct. 16. For more on the game, check out our interview with creative director Raphael van Lierop.
