The NES version of Yoshi's Cookie will no longer be available on the Wii Virtual Console as of 9 a.m. this Friday, Oct. 18, according to a notice on the service spotted by GoNintendo.
Yoshi's Cookie, a puzzle game developed not by Nintendo but by Bullet-Proof Software, originally launched on NES and Game Boy in April 1993 in North America, and on Super NES in June 1993. The NES version of Yoshi's Cookie was released on the Wii Virtual Console for 500 Wii Points ($5) in April 2008.
Nintendo removed the game from the European and Japanese Virtual Console marketplaces Oct. 11. The company did not provide an explanation, or a specific time zone, for the delisting.
We've reached out to Nintendo for more details, and will update this article with any information we receive.
