CastAR virtual reality headset surpasses Kickstarter goal

The Kickstarter campaign for the CastAR alternate reality/virtual reality headset from former Valve engineers Jeri Ellsworth and Rick Johnson surpassed its crowdfunding goal today, according to the device's Kickstarter page.

As of this writing, the crowdfunding campaign has received $401,493 in pledges from 1,657 donors with 29 days remaining. Its funding goal was $400,000.

The CastAR Kickstarter campaign launched earlier this week to raise funds for glasses that will project 3D images onto reflective surfaces, a controller called the Magic Wand and an accompanying software development kit.
