PS4 Party Voice Chat will support up to eight players

The PlayStation 4's Party Voice Chat functionality will support up to eight players at a time, much like it does on the PS Vita, PlayStation's social media manager confirmed on the PlayStation Blog.

Sony confirmed back in July that the PS4 will offer free party chat, and that the feature will also be accessible to players without a PlayStation Plus account. The company also announced at the time that players will be able to add up to 2,000 friends to their friends list, and any accounts and avatars they have on their current PlayStation account will carry over from the PS3 to PS4.

The news of eight-player voice chat came from a Q&A with Killzone Shadow Fall game director Steven ter Heide, who answered questions from the PlayStation community about the game's various modes, weapons and features.
