The Nintendo World store in New York City's Rockefeller Center will host a special event this Friday, Oct. 11 to commemorate the launch of Pokemon X and Y, Nintendo announced today.
The event will begin at 8 p.m. and run until 1 a.m. ET. At midnight, Nintendo World will begin selling copies of Pokemon X and Y and the recently announced Nintendo 2DS handheld. The store will remain open throughout the night to accommodate all attendees who have been waiting in line to purchase the games.
The event will also include demo kiosks with copies of Pokemon X and Pokemon Y available to play, as well as a photo booth featuring a Pikachu costumed character and inflatable replicas of X and Y's legendary Pokemon, Xerneas and Yveltal. Attendees who come dressed as Pokemon characters will have the opportunity to show off their costumes in a special stage showcase.
