Gran Turismo movie script to be penned by 'Watchmen' film writer

The script for Columbia Pictures' upcoming Gran Turismo film will be penned by Alex Tse, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Tse previously co-wrote the screenplay for Zack Snyder's Watchmen movie adaptation, and he has also worked on a script for the remake of The Crow.

Sony confirmed this past August that a film based on the Gran Turismo series was in development. According to series creator Kazunori Yamauchi, the movie will be inspired by the gamer-to-racer reality series GT Academy, and specifically, by the story of its first winner, Lucas OrdoƱez.

Yamauchi is also the subject of his own Gran Turismo film, a documentary about his career called Kaz: Pushing the Virtual Divide. For more on Yamauchi, check out our recent interview with him.
