Richard Garriott offers a look at Shroud of the Avatar six months into development
Veteran game designer Richard Garriott is showing off his latest RPG Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues six months into its development since being funded on Kickstarter for $2 million earlier in the year.
The 20-minute video narrated by Garriott looks at player housing, cities, prisons, the early combat system, as well as crafting and dialogue systens.
Shroud of the Avatar is slated to arrive next October. The game is a spiritual successor to the EA-owned Ultima franchise and promises to deliver a more personal online and offline experience driven by the sort of gameplay that fans of the Ultima franchise will find very familiar.
