Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus screenshots show characters and bosses, Hero Mode announced

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus on PlayStation Vita will include its predecessor's Hero Mode as well as a score of additional supporting characters and challenging boss battles, developer Team Ninja announced today.

The gallery above includes screenshots of protagonist Ryu Hayabusa's numerous allies, opponents and accessible weapons. Viewers can get a look at the Vita versions of Sigma 2 characters Ryu, shrine maiden Momiji, CIA agent Sonia, master swordsman Muramasa, the demo queen Elizébet and diabolical priest Dagra Dai. The gallery also includes stills from several boss battles, including fights against the four Great Fiend Lords and the Black Dragon.

Several screens also give a brief look at Hero Mode, first introduced in Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus. In Hero Mode, Ryu is granted additional enhanced abilities such as stat boosts when his health is low. Players will be able to use auto-block and evade maneuvers as well as deal more damage under these conditions.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus will be released for Vita in North America on Feb. 26, in Japan on Feb. 28, and in Europe on March 1.
