Limbo gameplay designer goes deep into the world of sounds and shapes with 140
Jeppe Carlsen, known best for his work as lead gameplay designer on Playdead Games' indie classic Limbo, reveals the rhythm-centric gameplay of his IGF 2013 nominated pet project 140.
This short gameplay video reveals just how key music is to the gameplay experience. The upcoming PC title features a world made up of moving shapes, where learning the music that each shape moves to is integral in order to beat bosses and sidestep traps.
The game has been in development for two years, and includes the work of Jakob Schmid on audio and Niels Fyrst and Andreas Peiterson on visual design. 140 is scheduled to release this year.
