Nintendo Direct returns for Valentine's Day. This time, the company's executives talk about upcoming Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games like Animal Crossing: New Leaf, New Super Luigi U, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Mario and Luigi: Dream Team and more. Fire Emblem: Awakening launching April 19 in Europe alongside exclusive 3DS XL bundle

Fire Emblem: Awakening will be available April 19 on Nintendo 3DS in Europe, Nintendo announced today during its European Nintendo Direct presentation.

The European launch will take place exactly one year after the Japanese release date. Awakening launched Feb. 4 in North America.

"I sincerely apologize to you all for waiting such a long time after the Japanese and American launches," said Nintendo of Europe president Satoru Shibata during the presentation.

Buy a 3DS XL and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon or Luigi's Mansion, get a 3DS game voucher

Nintendo is offering folks who purchase and register a Nintendo 3DS XL and either Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon or Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity a free downloadable voucher for an additional title, the company announced today in a press release.

After buying and registering the handheld and game, shoppers will be able to choose between one of five games to add to their collection at no cost. Those games are Super Mario 3D Land, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone!, Star Fox 64 3D or Freakyforms Deluxe: Your Creations, Alive!.

Wii U prepares for dual Zelda games with Miiverse community

The Wii U's Miiverse community gets a dedicated space for the Legend of Zelda series today, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced during a Nintendo Direct today.

"Users have freely shared their experiences on already released games (in the Miiverse) but none for unreleased games," Iwata said. "There is no community for the Legend of Zelda or the two new games we announced in our last Nintendo Direct."

A gameplay video for Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins offers a closer look at the block-centric puzzles that make up the upcoming Nintendo 3DS title.

Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins is an upcoming prequel to the Wii U title Lego City Stories. The TT Fusion-developed title is scheduled to release April 21 of this year.

Last month Nintendo president Satoru Iwata included The Chase in a list of titles that Nintendo hopes will "change the Nintendo 3DS system from a handheld device just to play the Mario series to the one to enjoy a variety of games."

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate demo coming Feb. 28 to 3DS eShop

A demo for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate, the upcoming Castlevania title on Nintendo 3DS, will be available in the Nintendo eShop Feb. 28, Nintendo announced during a Nintendo Direct presentation today.

Publisher Konami announced in December that the game will launch March 5 in North America.

HarmoKnight coming to North America on March 28

HarmoKnight, the upcoming rhythm-based side-scroller from developer Game Freak, will be available for Nintendo 3DS on March 28 from the Nintendo eShop, it was announced during today's Nintendo Direct.

A demo of the game will be available two weeks ahead of launch on March 14. Players will get the chance to create rhythms and harmonies using attack and jumping actions in the game.

Kersploosh! announced for 3DS eShop, launching March 7

Kersploosh!, a stone-dropping game, will be available in the Nintendo 3DS eShop March 7, Nintendo announced today during a Nintendo Direct presentation.

In Kersploosh!, you play as a stone being dropped into a well, and you're tasked with navigating obstacles on the way down to the bottom. It's not just rocks that are falling into the game's wells, though; you'll have to steer all kinds of vaguely round objects downward.

Wii Street U available now on eShop, free for a limited time

Wii Street U, the world-traveling app for Wii U which integrates Google Street view, is available today on the Wii U eShop, and will be free for a limited time.

The app allows users to explore Google's Street View maps in first-person using the Wii U GamePad as their lens into the world. Users can rotate and move the GamePad to look around the world, and move down streets and avenues that have been captured by Google's touring, photo-taking van.

Nintendo's Bill Trinen did not announce when the title would become a paid app, or how much it will cost when it does make that jump.

Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move coming to the 3DS eShop

Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move, a puzzle title featuring Donkey Kong and Mario, will be coming to Nintendo 3DS soon, Nintendo's Kit Ellis announced today.

The game will feature miniaturized versions of Nintendo's characters participating in a series of puzzles, in which paths must be created to lead waddling mini characters to a goal. The game will feature multiple modes and unlockable minigames. Players will also be able to create and share their own puzzles.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf launching June 9 in North America

Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the latest game in the life simulation series, will launch June 9 in North America on Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo announced today during a Nintendo Direct presentation.

In this game, you're the boss — you won't be doing chores for Tom Nook, said Nintendo's Bill Trinen during the Nintendo Direct video. New Super Luigi U announced, gives Luigi a starring role on Wii U

New Super Luigi U is upcoming downloadable content for New Super Mario Bros. U on Wii U, starring Mario's brother Luigi, Nintendo announced during today's Nintendo Direct.

The upcoming content excludes the more typical "Brothers" term from the title as Mario will not be making an appearance, it was explained. According to Nintendo, the game will be made available on the Wii U eShop; however, New Super Luigi U will follow a similar development timescale as full software, "so it will take some time."

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon multiplayer to feature four-player local and online co-op

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon will include four-player online and local co-op, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced today in a Nintendo Direct presentation.

There will be three different multiplayer modes in which up to four players, all playing at Luigi, will work together to solve puzzles. Each has access to Luigi's arsenal: the Poltergust 5000, the strobe Light and new Dark Light, which works like a black light to illuminate hidden objects.

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team announced, coming summer 2013 to 3DS

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, a new entry in the Mario & Luigi series of role-playing games, is set for release on Nintendo 3DS this summer, Nintendo announced today during a Nintendo Direct presentation.

The premise of the game is that it takes place in Luigi's dreams, so he's the star in an experience that can border on the surreal. In one section shown today, dozens of small Luigis appear to help out the original Luigi in battle. Solving puzzles occasionally requires touching Luigi's sleeping face.

Mario Golf: World Tour announced for Nintendo 3DS, coming this summer

Mario Golf: World Tour, a new installment in Camelot's Mario-themed golfing game franchise, is coming to Nintendo 3DS this summer, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced during a Nintendo Direct presentation this morning.

Few details about the title were revealed during the presentation, though Iwata promised that those familiar with the sport would be welcomed in by straightforward controls. The game will play host to a number of courses, some of which are designed to look like real-world courses, and some of which will look like environments pulled from the Mario universe.
