The Drowning video explains how a touch-based shooter works with just two fingers
The creators of The Drowning, an upcoming mobile first-person shooter from Scattered Entertainment, have talked a big game about the title's superior control scheme — and today, we get a glimpse at those controls in the video posted above.
The Drowning eschews the virtual controls used by other entries in the genre on iOS and Android devices, instead adopting a scheme requiring no more than two fingers on a single hand. Players move around the map with a single tap, their characters automatically pathfinding around objects in the way. To look around, players swipe across the screen with one finger. To shoot, players tap with two fingers — the crosshairs line up in between them, requiring actual accuracy for shots, rather than relying on auto-aiming mechanics.
Check out the trailer above to see these controls and more in action simultaneously.
