Mario and Luigi: Dream Team screenshots show the strange world of Luigi's dreams

Screenshots from Nintendo's upcoming title Mario & Luigi: Dream Team show the landscape inside Luigi's mind, a strange world filled with rainbows, clouds and some sticky-looking enemies.

The shots above show Mario attempting to navigate his brother's dreamland, a quirky and colorful gathering of environments that are unfortunately overrun with enemies. Luigi accompanies his brother in several instances, and in some of them more than once — viewers will note that some screenshots feature upwards of ten or twenty Luigis stacked to the sky, seemingly in an effort to assist Mario in defeating opponents and solving puzzles.

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team will be the latest installment in the series of role-playing games featuring the Mushroom Kingdom's heroic brother duo. In a Nintendo Direct presentation yesterday, the company revealed a planned summer 2013 release window for the title.
