Leading up to its PlayStation Meeting 2013, Sony's third video in its Evolution of PlayStation video series focuses on the PlayStation 3.

Officially announced at E3 2005, the video describes how the PlayStation 3's hardware allowed game developers to push games to the next level. The video also highlights the launch of the PlayStation Network, which connected gamers with gaming and entertainment, cloud storage for save games, the inclusion of a Blu-ray player, entertainment apps, PlayStation Move and the PS Plus subscription service.

The first video in the series "The Beginning," looks at the PlayStation, with the second focusing on the PlayStation 2. Sony is expected to reveal its next-generation console during the meeting on Feb. 20. See the storystream below for Polygon's reports on the next generation console.
