Mighty Switch Force 2, a sequel to Wayforward's screen-swapping platformer, will hit the Nintendo 3DS eShop sometime in the next few months, director Austin Ivansmith revealed recently to Destructoid.

The follow-up to Mighty Switch Force will feature the return of protagonist Patricia Wagon, who has apparently adopted a new profession between titles. It will be the Mighty series' first sequel — Mighty Switch Force was preceded by Mighty Milky Way and Mighty Flip Champs, which featured fairly similar dual-screen mechanics as later games in the franchise. Mighty Switch Force was also ported to the Wii U eShop last year alongside the console's launch.

Details about Mighty Switch Force 2 are scarce, but Ivansmith promised that information would surface in the coming weeks preceding the game's Q1 or Q2 2013 launch.
