Xbox Live puts Gears of War DLC on sale, Far Cry 3 and Forza Horizon on Games on Demand

This week's slate of Xbox Live deals and content includes discounts on DLC for Gears of War 2 and Gears of War 3, as well as the Games on Demand releases of 2012 hits such as Far Cry 3 and Forza Horizon, Major Nelson announced today.

Add-ons for Gears 2 (the All Fronts Collection) and Gears 3 (including the season pass and RAAM's Shadow pack) are all available at half price from today, Feb. 26, through March 4. Those deals are in addition to Microsoft's ongoing Ultimate Game Sale, which will put more than 60 games on sale over the next week.

Also available today are a bunch of new Games on Demand titles, including Far Cry 3, Forza Horizon and Hitman: Absolution. New content launching today includes Mass Effect 3: Reckoning, a free add-on that will be the penultimate piece of DLC for the space epic. Tomorrow, Feb. 27, Zen Studios will launch the Star Wars Pinball bundle of tables for Pinball FX 2 for 800 Microsoft Points ($10).

Next week, from March 5 through March 11, Sega-published Xbox Live Arcade games such as Nights Into Dreams (50 percent off), Sonic the Fighters and Virtua Fighter 2 (both 60 percent off) will go on sale. Liquid Entertainment's Karateka remake will be available for 400 Microsoft Points ($5), half its usual price.
