Neverwinter trailer introduces the Devoted Cleric class

The latest trailer for Neverwinter, Cryptic Studios' massively multiplayer online role-playing game, introduces a new character class called the Devoted Cleric.

The Devoted Cleric both heals and deals holy damage. It's a class that can manipulate the battlefield with area control and has a variety of moves for players to choose from. The Devoted Cleric's main mode of attack is the Lance of Faith, where players throw spears of light. Other attacks, such as Daunting Light, deal large amounts of damage through area of effect.

Clerics can also heal and deliver buffs in several ways. Soothing Light is a simple healing spell, while Astral Seal allows players to encase foes while restoring health. Hallowed Ground provides buffs to nearby allies, allowing them to take less damage while hitting harder.

You can watch the trailer above to see the Devoted Cleric's moves in action. Neverwinter will release for Windows PC. The game is set in the Dungeons & Dragons: Forgotten Realms universe. A release date has not yet been announced, though beta testing will take place through March.
